ITGIF – “IT-God” It’s Friday #14

Venting: They’re people, not « Resources »
I find the term « resources » when applied to people to be demeaning at best and a lie.
- Resources labels people as inanimate, raw material.
- Resources implies that people can be consumed or used up.
- Resources defines people as fungible when they are not.
- Because of these points, the term as applied to people is NOT Agile. There is a surprising amount of people in this community who apply the term to people. I am consistently shocked that Agile practitioners continue to use the word « resources » to talk about people. Please change your culture so we can help change the « resource culture » at large.
